Details have been announced for contemporary love story After You, the first new musical to be staged at Live at Zédel at the Crazy Coqs.
Liam Doyle (Wicked, UK tour; Mamma Mia!, Prince of Wales Theatre) and Laura Tebbutt (Love Me Tender, UK tour; Forbidden Broadway, Vaudeville Theatre) will star in the production which will play the London venue from 13 April until 22 April with a press night on 14 April.
Written by Alex Parker and Katie Lam and directed by Alistair Knights, After You is the first show to have been commissioned specifically for the intimate space.
Taking its inspiration from the romantic movie classics including Brief Encounter and The Way We Were, After You is the story of two people who meet by chance at a cabaret show. Unavailable and living incompatible lives, their connection is still sudden and deep. Unable to resist meeting again, they are soon consumed by a secret affair that threatens to overwhelm them.
With music by Parker and book and lyrics by Lam After You is presented by Alex Parker Theatre Company, The Katie Lam Company and Fane Productions.
The show is part of the programming for the second season of live music, musical theatre, comedy and cabaret at the venue which utilises the distinctively different Brasserie Zédel and Crazy Coqs spaces within the Zédel building in the heart of Soho.
