Amelia Lily is set to bring yet more X Factor to this year’s touring production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as she steps into the role of Narrator alongside fellow X Factor finalist Lloyd Daniels’ Joseph from 17 February at Edinburgh’s Playhouse Theatre.
This follows the news that Marcus Collins, who was originally cast as the Narrator, had pulled out of the 2015 tour.
Lily, who was mentored by former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland, finished third on The X Factor 2011, the year Little Mix claimed the crown. But despite just missing out on the top spot, she went on to have chart success with her debut single ‘You Bring Me Joy’.
The Middlesbrough-born singer almost missed out on becoming a finalist after she was eliminated early on in the competition, much to the shock of the viewers. She was brought back in after a fellow contestant was disqualified, and was reinstated by a public vote, resulting in her nickname, the ‘Comeback Kid’.
After a successful 2014 tour, Lloyd Daniels reprises his role as Joseph for 2015, while Matt Lapinskas returns to the part of the Pharaoh.
Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s family musical is presented by Bill Kenwright.
