Arion Productions has launched a new series of masterclasses offering training in selected areas of the performing arts.
The London-based theatre producers will offer four one-day only classes for up to 50 students at the Diorama Arts Studios in London’s Regent’s Place beginning in May.
The Portfolio Masterclasses will be led by double Olivier Award winner Jenny Galloway who will present Acting Through Song (29 May); multi award-winning producer Danielle Tarento (Auditioning For Musical Theatre – 19 June); War Horse and Goodnight Mr Tom puppeteer Abigail Matthews (West End Puppetry – 7 August); and Olivier and Actor’s Screen Guild award nominated actress Annette Badland (Acting for Stage and Screen – 27 November).
Commenting on the masterclass programme, Arion Productions artistic director Andrew Keates said: “Many students and professional actors have expressed the wish for practical masterclasses to learn new or specialist industry skills. Not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to afford to go to drama school.
“Arion is privileged to have links with some extraordinary professionals who have extremely successful careers. We want to help anyone who likes to learn and takes their career seriously. Arion’s ethos is to provide opportunities for the next generation of theatre-makers. Not only are these masterclasses a testament to that but all of the profits will be invested in future opportunities for theatre-makers.”
The classes are aimed at those considering or currently training at a drama school or theatre professionals who are looking to learn new skills. All attendees must be over 16 years old and tickets will cost £35 per class plus a TicketWeb booking fee.
