Showbiz satire Cat – (The Play!!!) is to make its West End debut this week, following on from successful runs across Ireland and at Leicester Curve.

Featuring The Fall and Hollyoaks’ actor Gerard McCarthy, the tongue-in-cheek homage to musical theatre centres on the sacking of Dave The Cat from the musical Cats just minutes before curtain-up on opening night.

The Damien Tracey production which is directed by Stephen Whitson, with choreography by Richard Jones, will play London’s Ambassadors Theatre for two nights only on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 April.

Written by Jamie Beamish and Richard Hardwick, the show pokes gentle fun at the musical theatre genre as it follows Dave through his turbulent theatrical career beginning with his first role as Jesus’ donkey in Jesus Christ Superstar.
