Cockadoodlemoo! – Edinburgh Festival Fringe – C too

Cockadoodlemoo! continues at C too until 19 August.

Star rating: four stars ★ ★ ★ ★ ✩

From the moment the brightly-coloured cockerel took to the stage, this young audience was spellbound. The toddler next to me had been bouncing around outside as “Spiderman”, yet was entranced all the way through this delightful show.

The onstage band was beautifully led by MD Paul Tame. The three musicians play five instruments between them, creating wonderful variety and range.

The children instantly responded to changes in key and tempo, but above all they were enchanted by the animals of the farm.

Cries of: “There’s a sheep! Ooh, a fox!” punctuated the performance and the cast interacted beautifully – never so much as to frighten the children, but enough to encourage their enjoyment. The dog character was a particular favourite, as was the cow who tried to crow.

Dazzling attention to the look of this show – colourful, creative in a simple and effective set. Children and adults alike were delighted at the whole story.

Perfect choice for young families.
