All Star Productions is continuing its commitment to producing revivals of rarely produced musicals with the London stage premiere of Cole Porter’s Out of This World.
The musical comedy, loosely based on a comedy by Roman playwright Plautus, with music and lyrics by the legendary Porter and a book by Dwight Taylor and Reginald Lawrence, will open at London’s Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre on 12 April.
The show debuted on Broadway in 1950 where it played for 157 performances. It received its UK stage premiere in 2004 at the Chichester Festival Theatre.
Out of This World will be the second show in All Star Productions’ 2016 season, following on from the successful production of The Kissing Dance.
Director Randy Smartnick heads a creative team that includes musical director Aaron Clingham and choreographer Kate McPhee. Casting will be by Benjamin Newsome and the show will be produced by Andrew Yon and presented by arrangement with Tams Witmark Inc.
The show will play the Walthamstow venue from 12 to 30 April.
