Competition – win tickets to see Murder Ballad on opening night

MB_A3_FULL-CAST_AW-288x300Ramin Karimloo, Kerry Ellis, Norman Bowman and Victoria Hamilton-Barritt will star in the forthcoming West End production of Murder Ballad and this is your chance to win a pair of tickets to opening night on 5 October.

The first independent production in the West End from Soundcheck Productions, Murder Ballad will play the Arts Theatre from 29 September until 3 December.

This Off-Broadway musical, a tale of illicit love, lust and betrayal, centres around Sara (Kerry Ellis), a young New Yorker who is torn between her dangerous ex-boyfriend and her reliable husband. Murder Ballad documents the details of the torrid affair with vibrant pop-rock tunes.

When Sara breaks up with Tom, a ‘gritty bartender’, she runs into the arms of Michael, a quiet poetry student at NYU. But after the couple get married and have a daughter, Sara longs for her old, dangerous life and begins secretly seeing Tom at his bar downtown. As Sara’s passionate relationship with Tom intensifies, she begins to miss her old life with her husband and young child – but by then, it may be too late. With a title like Murder Ballad, it’s no surprise that the treacherous love triangle ends in tragedy.

Conceived by award-winning playwright Julia Jordan, with book and lyrics by Jordan and music and lyrics by rock singer/songwriter Juliana Nash, Murder Ballad debuted Off-Broadway in 2013.

The UK production will be directed by Sam Yates with a creative team that also includes designer Richard Kent and lighting designer David Plater.
