Stage and screen favourite Anita Dobson will be the star attraction at a special event at London’s St James Theatre next month.
A Conversation With Anita Dobson on 20 March will feature the award-winning actress chatting about her long and varied career with writer and broadcaster Edward Seckerson.
The star who is still fondly remembered for her performance as EastEnders’ Angie Watts during the heyday of the BBC soap is now regarded as one of our most accomplished television, film and theatre performers.
Her extensive theatre credits include leading roles in shows such as Chicago, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Hello, Dolly! and Calendar Girls. She was nominated for an Olivier, Evening Standard and London Critics’ award for her powerful performance in the National Theatre production of the play Frozen and more recently appeared in She Stoops to Conquer at the Theatre Royal Bath.
After leaving Albert Square, Dobson’s small screen work included appearances in a range of popular shows including New Tricks, Casualty and Holby City. Her film credits include Beyond Bedlam, The Rise and Fall of the Krays and London Road.
A Conversation With Anita Dobson is the latest in a series of live interviews conducted by Seckerson with a range of actors, classical musicians and musical theatre stars. A writer and broadcaster specialising in classical music, opera and musical theatre, Seckerson presented the popular BBC Radio 3 series Stage and Screen for six years.
