London’s Menier Chocolate Factory is to host US theatre company Fiasco Theater’s innovative production of Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods this summer.

The production, which will feature the original US cast, will arrive in the UK fresh from critical success in New York where it received the 2015 Lucille Lortel Award for Best Revival.

Using ten actors and multiple musical instruments, the production which re-imagines Sondheim and James Lapine’s magical creation is directed by Noah Brody and Ben Steinfeld.

The creative team also includes music supervisor Matt Castle, choreographer Lisa Shriver, set designer Derek McLane, costume designer Whitney Locher, lighting designer Christopher Akerlind and sound designer Darron L West.

Tickets will go on sale on 25 May ahead of the show’s Menier Run from 1 July until 17 September.

Fiasco Theater is an ensemble theatre company created by graduates of the Brown University/Trinity Rep MFA acting programme. Their previous productions include Cymbeline (TFANA/Barrow Street), Measure For Measure (New Victory), The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Folger/TFANA) and Twelfth Night.

Cymbeline was presented Off-Broadway twice, for nearly 200 performances, and won the 2012 Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Revival.

Into the Woods at the Menier is presented in association with Michael Harrison Entertainment and David Ian Productions.
