Cast changes have taken place in Fiasco Theater’s innovative production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Into the Woods at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory.
Harry Hepple (Pippin) plays the Baker, Steffan Lloyd-Evans (The Dancing Years) is Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince and Laura Tebbutt (Forbidden Broadway) steps into the role of the Baker’s Wife. They take over from original cast members Ben Steinfeld, Noah Brody and Jessie Austrian.
The US theatre company’s production, featuring the original US cast, arrived in the UK last month fresh from critical success in New York where it received the 2015 Lucille Lortel Award for Best Revival.
Hepple, Lloyd-Evans and Tebbutt join the remaining original cast of Paul L. Coffey, Andy Grotelueschen, Liz Hayes, Claire Karpen, Patrick Mulryan, Vanessa Reseland and Emily Young.
Using ten actors and multiple musical instruments, the production which re-imagines Sondheim and Lapine’s magical creation is directed by Brody and Steinfeld.
The creative team also includes music supervisor Matt Castle, choreographer Lisa Shriver, set designer Derek McLane, costume designer Whitney Locher, lighting designer Christopher Akerlind, sound designer Darron L West, music supervisor Matt Castle and musical director Evan Rees.
The show will play the Menier Chocolate Factory until 17 September.
