Jekyll & Hyde at The Old Vic – company revealed for McOnie dance thriller

Daniel Collins and Tim Hodges will head the cast of Drew McOnie’s new dance thriller Jekyll & Hyde which opens at The Old Vic on 20 May.

Inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic tale of the ultimate split personality The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Jekyll & Hyde has been specially commissioned by The Old Vic as part of its new dance collaboration with The McOnie Company, led by associate artist McOnie.

Collins (Show BoatThe Car Man) will play Dr Jekyll while Hodges (Making MidnightEdward Scissorhands) will take on the role of Mr Hyde. Other confirmed cast members include Ashley Andrews (DrunkWicked), Joao Carolino (The Sound of MusicWater Babies), Carrie Taylor Johnson (Nutcracker!, Swan Lake), Anabel Kutay (The LoraxDrunk), Ebony Molina (The LoraxSingin’ in the Rain), Rachel Muldoon (Notre Dame de ParisWicked), Freya Rowley (Tarzan The MusicalCats), Alexzandra Sarmiento (In The HeightsA Chorus Line), Barnaby Thompson (Elf The MusicalOklahoma!) and Jason Winter (White ChristmasMatilda).

Devised, directed and choreographed by McOnie with music by Grant Olding, the production will play a limited run at The Old Vic from 20 May until 28 May. Simon Hardwick is the show’s associate director with design by Soutra Gilmour; lighting by Richard Howell; and sound design by Sebastian Frost.
