Jekyll & Hyde at The Old Vic – exclusive new images


Musical Theatre Review’s official photographer Roy Tan offers a gallery of brand new images to mark this week’s official opening at The Old Vic of Drew McOnie’s new dance thriller Jekyll & Hyde. The show, which has been devised, directed and choreographed by McOnie, will play a very limited run until Saturday (28 May).

Inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic tale of the ultimate split personality The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr HydeJekyll & Hyde has been specially commissioned by The Old Vic as part of its new dance collaboration with The McOnie Company, led by associate artist McOnie. The show has music by Grant Olding.

The cast is headed by Daniel Collins (Show BoatThe Car Man) as Dr Jekyll, while Tim Hodges (Making MidnightEdward Scissorhands) takes on the role of Mr Hyde. The cast also includes Ashley Andrews (DrunkWicked); Joao Carolino (The Sound of MusicWaterbabies); Carrie Taylor Johnson (Nutcracker!, Swan Lake); Anabel Kutay (The Lorax, Drunk); Ebony Molina (The LoraxSingin’ in the Rain); Rachel Muldoon (Notre Dame de ParisWicked); Freya Rowley (Tarzan the MusicalCats); Alexzandra Sarmiento (In the HeightsA Chorus Line); Barnaby Thompson (Elf The MusicalOklahoma!); and Jason Winter (White ChristmasMatilda).

Simon Hardwick is the show’s associate director, with design by Soutra Gilmour, lighting by Richard Howell and sound design by Sebastian Frost.
