Joe McElderry will be heading home for Christmas in Bill Kenwright’s touring production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
A special limited run of the show which is currently in the middle of its 2017 UK tour will play Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena from 19-31 December.
Commenting on the news of his special festive homecoming, McElderry said: “I am so excited to be bringing this wonderful show back home for Christmas! I have had an amazing year touring with Joseph so far and we have had fantastic audiences, so to bring it back to the north east in Newcastle over Christmas is very special. It really is the icing on the cake to an already fantastic year. I cannot wait to see everyone at the shows over the festive period.”
The former X Factor winner donned the coat of many colours for the second time at the start of the year. Kenwright’s production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s much-loved musical is now in its 36th year with ticket sales hitting an estimated 20 million.
