The 50th Anniversary of Judy Garland’s iconic London Palladium performance will be celebrated with a special event at the venue on 15 October.
The distinctive voice of one of the Golden Age of Hollywood’s biggest stars will be heard once again at the Palladium in a show featuring big screen footage of Garland performing her greatest hits, accompanied by a full live orchestra.
Judy Garland in Concert will be hosted and narrated by Radio 2’s Leo Green who will share the stories behind the songs and trace the career of one of the 20th century’s most famous performers.
Featuring never-seen-before footage of the star singing classic songs including ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’, ‘Once in a Lifetime’, ‘Almost Like Being in Love’ and ‘Come Rain Or Shine’, the show will also feature rare personal home videos and photographs of the star both on and offstage.
The concert will be accompanied by a new and exclusive exhibition of more than 30 pieces of Garland memorabilia. The exhibits on loan from Garland’s son Joey Luft include costumes, gowns and other items associated with the star.
Judy Garland in Concert is presented by Senbla in association with John Kimble, Phil Sandhaus and Royal Rainbow Productions.
