West End and Broadway star Lea Salonga will launch her 2016/2017 world tour with an appearance at the popular Lytham Festival in Lytham St Annes near Blackpool.
The multi award-winning singer who shot to fame in Miss Saigon will appear at the festival’s star-studded West End Proms event on Sunday 7 August.
Her concert tour will begin with three dates in Hong Kong from the end of September this year, followed by dates in Sydney and Melbourne in early February 2017.
Salonga will then begin a tour of the US, starting in New York on April 1 and taking in venues across the country including Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Chicago and Phoenix.
The tour is due to culminate with an extended engagement at Feinstein’s 54 Below in New York where she will become the longest-running single act in the venue’s history by performing from 9 to 22 May.
Revealing details of her tour, Salonga said: “I can’t wait to hit the road and perform all across the US next spring. We’ll be doing a mix of shows – some with my incredibly talented band, some more intimate performances with just me and a piano, and a few with symphony orchestras.
“There will be an array of Broadway, Disney, pop… you name it! I’m looking forward to putting together a really fun set list for these performances. And to be able to follow the tour with a long stay in NYC and a record-breaking run at 54 Below is a dream!”
The announcement of the tour dates also coincides with the launch of Salonga’s updated multi-platform website www.LeaSalonga.com.
