West End leading lady Louise Dearman has joined the all-star cast lining up to perform with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra at a special event to celebrate the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein in September.
Dearman, the first and only actress to have played both witches in the smash hit Wicked will join the already announced Julian Ovenden in the show at London’s Royal Festival Hall on 15 September.
Something Wonderful: The Rodgers and Hammerstein Concert will feature Ovenden and Dearman, along with a number of other yet to be revealed leading musical theatre stars, performing a selection of classics written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II.
Responsible for some of the greatest musicals of all time, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s catalogue is a treasure trove of classic songs from hit shows including The Sound of Music, Carousel, South Pacific and The King and I.
Tickets for the event are now on sale. Further details of the line-up will be announced at a later date.
