Metropolis – All Star Productions to stage first London revival

The first London revival of the musical version of the Fritz Lang movie Metropolis will be the closing production in All Star Productions’ 2017 season.

With music by Joe Brooks and a book and lyrics by Brooks and Dusty Hughes, Metropolis will play London’s Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre from 10-29 October.

Continuing All Star Productions’ commitment to producing revivals of rarely-produced musicals, the first UK staging of the show since its London premiere in 1989 will be directed by Tim McArthur with musical direction and orchestrations by Aaron Clingham. The creative team will also include choreographer Ian Pyle and producer Andrew Yon.

Inspired by one of the most iconic silent movies, Metropolis is set in 2026 in the last city in a world in which all natural resources have been exhausted and slave workers are forced to work underground to by wealthy industrialists.
