Three of the West End’s rising stars are joining forces for My Fair Ladies, a celebration of Broadway’s iconic ‘Divas’ at London’s Live at Zedel for four nights only this month.
Presented by Scala Theatre Ltd, My Fair Ladies will showcase the talents of Lisa-Anne Wood (Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera), Maeve Byrne (Ghost the Musical, Godspell), and 2014 Evening Standard Emerging Talent Award winner Laura Jane Matthewson (Dogfight, The World Goes Round).
The evening of songs made famous by Broadway’s most famous leading ladies including Ethel Merman, Liza Minnelli, Bernadette Peters and Barbra Streisand will feature fresh new musical arrangements by musical director Niall Bailey.
Beginning this Sunday (15 January) and ending on Wednesday (18 January) the four evening shows will play Live At Zedel in central London.
Announcing the shows, producer Chris Wheeler said: “The legacy of these Broadway divas lives on and their influence we can see in all our theatres today. They were celebrities and stars when those words meant something a little different.
“My Fair Ladies celebrates their talent and the wonderful songs they brought to life during their remarkable careers. Of course, their personal lives were often filled with more drama, sadness and, sometimes, loneliness. Our own special ladies, Lisa-Anne, Laura-Jane and Maeve, sound glorious in their own interpretations of these songs and will give you just a glimpse of what it might have been like to be in the presence of a truly great diva. Or three.”
