Olivier Awards – all the essential details for tuning in on Sunday

C8zfjb2WsAApW2g.jpg-largeA glittering line-up of famous faces will take to the stage to present this year’s Olivier Awards at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday (tomorrow).

The presenters will include David Baddiel, Alfie Boe, John Boyega, Michaela Coel, Leanne Cope, Julian Clary, Robert Fairchild, Ben Forster, Phoebe Fox, Andrew Garfield, Denise Gough, Matt Henry, Ruthie Henshall, Amanda Holden, Rufus Hound, Cush Jumbo, Nathan Lane, Rose Leslie, Maureen Lipman, Danny Mac, Audra McDonald, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Laura Mvula, Paul O’Grady, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Sophie Okonedo, Charlotte Ritchie, Mark Rylance and Russell Tovey.

Hosted by comedian Jason Manford, the 2017 Olivier Awards with Mastercard show will feature performances from a number of Olivier-nominated musicals.

The previously announced performing talent includes: Gary Barlow and Tim Firth who will open the show with a performance with the cast of The Girls; American star Amber Riley performing ‘And I Am Telling You’ from Dreamgirls and Tim Minchin will be flying in to represent Groundhog Day which has recently begun previewing on Broadway.

Fans of Andrew Lloyd Webber will be treated to a performance from the cast of School of Rock The Musical and a performance from Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s acclaimed production of Jesus Christ Superstar ahead of its limited season return this summer.

There will also be an exclusive performance from Matthew Bourne’s The Red Shoes. Nominated for Best Entertainment and Family, the production is currently on tour across the UK.

Six-time Tony award winner Audra McDonald will also perform exclusively during the In Memoriam section tribute to those we lost in the year since the last awards’ event.

UK television viewers will be able to watch highlights of this year’s Olivier Awards ceremony when the show is broadcast for the first time in a primetime slot on ITV on Tuesday 11 April from 8pm until 10pm.

Following on from the prestigious event’s debut at the Royal Albert Hall, which will be broadcast live on Magic Radio, the show will also be broadcast worldwide at the same time on Facebook and will also stream to China for the first time via YouKu.

Olivier Award winner Ruthie Henshall and Alice Arnold will host the live show on Magic Radio in the UK which will begin with a build-up on air from 5.30pm, while Sirius XM will broadcast the show in the US.

As previously announced, broadcaster and former Strictly favourite Anita Rani will join Collabro’s Jamie Lambert and New York Entertainment reporter Frank DiLella as the hosts of the eagerly anticipated inaugural Live From The Red Carpet Show exclusively on Facebook from 4.30pm until 6pm.

  • 4.30pm: Red Carpet show with hosts Anita Rani, Frank Dilella and Jamie Lambert, exclusively on Facebook Live.
  • 6pm: Follow#OlivierAwards on Twitter and Instagram, and on the Snapchat channel @londontheatre.
  • 7.15pm (approx): Ceremony interval. Jamie Lambert goes backstage on Facebook Live, talking to presenters, winners and performers.
  • 6pm: Listen on Magic Radio in UK and Sirius XM in US, hosted by Alice Arnold and Olivier Award winner Ruthie Henshall, with build-up on air from 5:30pm.
