Pop singer Pixie Lott will appear at the New Wimbledon Theatre this May in a brand new production of Puttin’ On the Ritz. Lott will be joined by her Strictly Come Dancing dance partner Trent Whiddon, along with fellow dance champion professionals Kristina Rihanoff and Robin Windsor. The production will run at the theatre from 27–30 May, it is also visiting other venues including Theatre Royal Newcastle, from 2–6 June.
Puttin’ On The Ritz features music from George Gershwin, Irving Berlin and Cole Porter. Songs include ‘Cheek to Cheek’, ‘Alexander’s Ragtime Band’, ‘Birth of the Blues’, ‘Swanee’, ‘Night and Day’, ‘I Got Rhythm’, ‘Easter Parade’ and ‘Puttin’ On The Ritz’.
Pixie Lott is an MTV Music award-winning and Brit Award-nominated singer and songwriter. She rose to fame with the release of her debut single, ‘Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)’ and her second single, ‘Boys and Girls’, which both went straight to No. 1. Her debut album, entitled Turn It Up, was awarded ‘gold’ status and is now a multi-platinum selling album. Lott was recently awarded a further No. 1 with the hit song ‘All About Tonight’. Most recently, she starred in BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Trent Whiddon is an award-winning Australian dancer and choreographer. He was a lead dancer and company manager of Burn the Floor for 13 years including the Broadway production. He has choreographed for So You Think You Can Dance and Satisfaction On a Dance Floor. Most recently Whiddon has completed touring with the Strictly Live Tour after a successful first season on Strictly Come Dancing partnering Pixie Lott.
Kristina Rihanoff is a world finalist professional ballroom dancer, instructor, choreographer and author. Rihanoff joined the professional cast of Strictly Come Dancing in 2008 and in 2014 she was a finalist with her partner Simon Webb. After seven years, Rihanoff is the longest-serving female professional on the show. She was also the lead in the West End show, Burn the Floor, together with Robin Windsor.
Robin Windsor is a British professional Latin and Ballroom dancer, best known for his appearances in the BBC television series Strictly Come Dancing.
