West End and Broadway star Rachel Tucker returns to the St James Theatre on Sunday 19 April with her all-new solo show, Back From Broadway, following her acclaimed debut on the Great White Way starring as Meg Dawson in Sting’s musical The Last Ship (Neil Simon Theatre, New York) directed by Joe Mantello. There are two performances on 19 April at 3pm and 7pm.
Tucker hails from Belfast, Northern Ireland and trained at the Royal Academy of Music, London. For two and a half years and more than 1,000 performances, she starred as Elphaba in the West End production of Wicked (Apollo Victoria Theatre), a role for which we won the 2011 WhatsOnStage Award for Best Takeover in a Role. Tucker’s debut solo album The Reason was released in August 2013.
The actress and singer’s further theatre credits include Farragut North (Southwark Playhouse), We Will Rock You (Dominion Theatre), Tonight’s the Night (national tour), Rent (Olympia Theatre, Dublin), The Who’s Tommy (national tour), The Full Monty (national tour), The Wizard of Oz, To Be Sure, Merry Christmas Betty Ford and Have a Nice Life (Lyric Theatre, Belfast). Workshops include Lazarus directed by Ivo van Hove, T’Aint, Dusty and Love Never Dies. Television credits include I’d Do Anything (BBC), where she reached the semi-final stages for the role of Nancy.
