Stage and screen rising star Samantha Barks will release her debut studio album and embark on a UK tour in June.
The singer/actress who first found fame as a finalist on the BBC TV talent show I’d Do Anything will return to the stage in early June to perform tracks from her forthcoming album which will be released on 10 June by United Agents Records.
Best known for her acclaimed stage and big screen appearances as Eponine in Les Misérables, the artist has also starred in popular touring productions of Oliver! and Cabaret.
A personal selection of songs Barks has previously performed in the West End and on tour, along with genre classics, the album and supporting tour will offer audiences a rare chance to see Barks as a solo performer in her own right. Tracks on the album include ‘As Long As He Needs Me’, ‘This House is Empty Now’ and ‘On My Own’.
The concert tour which begins at the Norwich Theatre Royal on 8 June will take in the Gaiety Theatre on the Isle of Man (11 June); Bromley’s Churchill Theatre (13 June); Swansea’s Grand Theatre (14 June); the Floral Pavilion, Liverpool (16 June); The Capitol, Horsham (18 June); Birmingham’s New Alexandra Theatre (20 June); Shoreditch Town Hall, London (24 June); G Live, Guildford (25 June); Richmond Theatre (26 June); Leeds City Varieties (28 June); Lancaster Grand (29 June) and The Botanics Summer 16, St Andrews (30 June).
