The Mystery Inc. gang has been unmasked ahead of the arrival of Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries at the London Palladium this month.
After receiving more than 1,200 casting submissions the production team bringing the hound with a nose for sniffing out spooky mysteries to the West End stage have announced the full cast.
Scooby-Doo will be played by dancer and singer Joe Goldie with Charlie Bull (Elf the Musical) as Daphne, Chris Warner Drake (Chicago) as Fred, Rebecca Withers (The Kissing Dance) as Velma and Charlie Haskins (Macbeth UK tour) as Shaggy.
Completing the cast of the show which plays its only UK dates this year at the London Palladium from 18 until 21 August, are John McManus (Top Hat), Kate England (Rent), Matt Parsons (The Sound of Music) and Martin Neely (Mary Poppins tour).
Fresh from a sell-out tour of North America, the colourful show reunites the Australian tour’s creative team of writer and director Theresa Borg, composer Craig Bryant and choreographer Katie Ditchburn.
Based on TV’s longest-running animated series, the energetic show features big musical numbers including a reworking of the instantly recognisable theme song.
Following on from the much-loved format of the animated TV series and the blockbuster live action films, the show features Scooby and the team tackling a mystery involving ghostly goings-on in a local theatre.
