Broadway and recording artist Shoshana Bean will return to London this autumn to take up an eight-show residency at Covent Garden’s The Singers Lounge.
The American star who was the first to take over the role of Elphaba in the original production of Wicked will play the space at Pizza Express in St Martin’s Lane from 11 September until 3 October.
An original cast member of the Tony Award-winning Hairspray on Broadway, Bean is also an established recording artist in her own right. Last year she became a guest artist on jazz musician Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox.
Her eight shows at The Singers Lounge will feature a varied programme, reflecting her wide-ranging stage and music career.
Announcing her London return, Bean said: “I’m beyond excited to make London my home for a whole month this fall. The intimate and casual atmosphere of The Singers Lounge creates an immediate connection with my audience and I love that! No two shows will be alike. From new material, to themed nights, to very special surprise guests…you aren’t going to want to miss a single one!”
