David Kristopher-Brown and Joshua Mumby will take the iconic central roles in the official The Blues Brothers Xmas Special at the Arts Theatre this Christmas season.
Kristopher-Brown was most recently seen in the ensemble of The Phantom of the Opera, where he covered and performed as Piangi. Mumby is currently performing in LP Creatives’ national tour of Hansel & Gretel. Both performers previously featured in The Blues Brothers in 2012 at the Lowry Theatre and at the Edinburgh Festival.
The festive version of the classic show opens on 26 November and runs until 10 January. It will feature new previously unheard material all backed by Dan Aykroyd and Judith Belushi at Blues Brothers Approved Ventures.
Other key cast members include Simon Ray Harvey (Memphis, Billy Elliot and the UK tour of Flashdance); Sasi Strallen (the national tours of Oklahoma!, Fame, Scrooge and 9 to 5: The Musical; T’Shan Williams (the UK Tour of Love Me Tender) and Hannah Kee (Starlight Express).
The Hartshorn – Hook production will be directed by Mumby, with choreography from Lily Howkins and musical direction by James Robert Ball.
