Emma Hatton, star of the West End production of Wicked, will be performing a solo gig at Kettner’s Soho for one night only, in a celebration of all things Christmas.
The diminutive singer and actress, who has been praised for her portrayal of Elphaba, presents Merry Christmas, Darling at the acclaimed jazz venue on Romilly Street on Sunday 13 December. Audience members will be treated to an evening of songs, performed by Hatton and specially selected guests, backed up by a trio of professional musicians.
Hatton said: “I’m incredibly excited to be performing my solo show at Kettner’s. I’ve always had an absolute passion for jazz, blues and soul, and to perform the music of my inspirations, Ella Fitzgerald, Irving Berlin and so many more, is an absolute honour. Christmas is my favourite time of year, music is my lifeblood, and of course everyone loves good food, so to combine it all in one wonderfully indulgent evening is sheer heaven for me – hopefully our audience will feel the same!”
Hatton has been starring in Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre since February and continues her run until late 2016. Her previous theatre credits include Scaramouche in We Will Rock You and Donna in Dreamboats and Petticoats, and she is also known for performing regularly at Ronnie Scott’s, the Savoy Hotel and many other recognised venues. She has recently released a Christmas EP featuring the talents of acclaimed jazz vocalist Anthony Strong and her track ‘Mad About the Boy’ appears on the London Gay Big Band album Brave, recorded this year at Abbey Road.
