Wicked UK and international tour – full cast revealed

Cast details have been revealed for the touring version of the hit musical Wicked which will play the Bradford Alhambra Theatre for a limited five weeks from 20 July.

Over 25,000 tickets have already been sold for the only chance to see the production in the UK before the tour travels to Singapore (MasterCard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands) where it opens on 29 September.

Jacqueline Hughes will return to the role of Elphaba after starring in the UK and Ireland tour. She will be joined by Carly Anderson (Glinda) who recently appeared in Sunset Boulevard and the London premiere of Xanadu.

Bradley Jaden (Les Misérables) will play Fiyero, while former soap star Steven Pinder returns to the show to play The Wizard and Doctor Dillamond. Mamma Mia!’s Kim Ismay will take on the role of Madame Morrible, BAFTA Cymru winner Iddon Jones will play Boq, and Matilda original cast member Emily Shaw will play Nessarose. Jodie Steele (The War of the Worlds) will be the standby for Elphaba.

The full confirmed cast for the Wicked UK/international tour also includes: Kyle Anthony, Joe Atkinson, Sam Brown, Hannah Cadec, Joel Cooper, Nicholas Corre, James Davies-Williams, Natasha Ferguson, Elizabeth Futter, Zoe George, Amy Goodwin, Alex Jordan-Mills, Stuart MacIver, Tom Mather, Stacey McGuire, Sara Morley, Emily Olive Boyd, Wendy-Lee Purdy, Dean Read, Paul Saunders, Elisha Sherman, Joshua St Clair and Hannah Veerapen.

After opening in Singapore in September this year, Wicked will tour internationally until January 2018.

Currently in its tenth year at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre and already the 19th longest-running show in West End theatre history, the multi-award winning tale of the witches of Oz has now been seen in London by 50 million people in 14 countries and has won over 100 awards.

Based on the best seller by Gregory Maguire, which took its inspiration from the creations of L. Frank Baum brought so vividly to life in the classic movie The Wizard of Oz, the production at the Apollo Victoria Theatre is taking bookings up to 29 April 2017.

Wicked has music and lyrics by multi Grammy and Academy award winner Stephen Schwartz and was adapted for the stage by Winnie Holzman. Musical staging is by double Tony Award-winner Joe Mantello.

Wicked is produced around the world by Marc Platt, Universal Stage Productions, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone. The executive producer (UK) is Michael McCabe.
