It was a golden period in Hollywood, the great movie musicals brought to life by the likes of Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Judy Garland and Gene Kelly who created some of our most iconic dance scenes of all time.
For one special evening (Friday 13 November), the Royal Festival Hall plays homage to the glitz and glamour with Let’s Dance Again!, inviting the audience to sit back and re-live the iconic dance sequences from some of these sublime films live on stage.
The first names of performers, from the West End and beyond, to join the cast have been announced. Matthew Malthouse (Singin’ in The Rain, Mrs Henderson Presents), Alan Burkitt (Top Hat, Cats, We Will Rock You) and Charlotte Gooch (Top Hat, Dirty Dancing, Grease) will all take to the stage to bring to life some of the most memorable sequences from our favourite musicals.
Top Hat, Easter Parade, Swing Time, An American in Paris, Follow the Fleet, Girl Crazy, Royal Wedding, The Band Wagon, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes – the list goes on.
With choreography by Nick Winston (Annie, Calamity Jane, White Christmas, Kiss Me, Kate, Flashdance, Loserville, BBC Prom: Sondheim at 80) the show will be set to the backdrop of a full orchestra and singers.
