Bill Kenwright’s successful touring version of the hit West End production of Evita will launch the 2018 leg of its tour – taking in dates in the UK and Italy – at Torquay’s Princess Theatre next month.
Following on from acclaimed runs in Luxembourg and the United Arab Emirates, the production, which features Madalena Alberto (Cats) who returned to the role of Eva Peron in Manchester in December, will play Torquay until 17 March.
Alberto, the Portuguese actress who previously won rave reviews for her debut in the role in 2013 stars alongside leading Italian performer Gian Marco Schiaretti (Disney’s Tarzan) who first played Che in last year’s West End production and West End and Broadway performer Jeremy Secomb (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street) who joins the cast as Juan Peron.
The cast is completed by: Oscar Balmaseda (Magaldi); Cristina Hoey (Mistress); Kellie Gnauck; Bethan Jacks; Samuel John Humphreys; Benjamin McMillan; Verity Burgess; Riva Grant; Callum Fitzgerald; Joe McCourt; Emmanuel Alba; Yuval Zoref; Oliver Slade; Jessica Ellen; Kirsty Whelan; Anthony Ray; and Mike Ward.
Following on from the Torquay run, the show will head for Birmingham, Cornwall, Shrewsbury, Swansea, Chester, Bradford, Turin, Glasgow, Newcastle, Grimsby, Woking, Bromley, Belfast, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Crawley, Coventry, Londonderry, Aberdeen, Brighton and Southsea.
Bill Kenwright’s revival of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s much-loved musical previously toured the country in 2013 ahead of a hugely successful London run at the Dominion Theatre in the autumn of 2014.
Directed by Bob Tomson and Kenwright, the production is designed by Matthew Wright and choreographed by Bill Deamer.
