Off West End and Edinburgh Fringe favourite Quentin Dentin will release his debut album on 14 September. The star of the self-titled The Quentin Dentin Show which played the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2015 before playing two Off-West End runs in 2016 and 2017 will feature on an album produced by The Kooks’ co-founder, Paul Garred.
With music and lyrics by Henry Carpenter, ‘The Quentin Dentin Show Original Cast Recording’ features the songs described by Musical Theatre Review as “catchy and clear”.
Commenting on his recording debut, Dentin said: “Well, what can I say? It’s terrific. I sing most of the songs, but that’s only fair because I made them all up. It’s been produced by an earthling who has really brought the material to life, upping all the tempos, adding lovely bells and whistles and making everything sound modern (like me). What other musical album is going to actually tell you the meaning of life? This is the real deal. I have all the answers, and they’re all in this album. Trust me!”
Described as ‘The Rocky Horror Show for the new Millennium’ when it debuted in Edinburgh, the satirical song and dance show which tells the story of charismatic Quentin Dentin’s mission to make humanity happy, features music and lyrics by Carpenter and a book by Carpenter and Tom Crowley.
