Thom Southerland’s critically-acclaimed production of the multi-award-winning Titanic The Musical will set sail once again with a European tour launching in Woking in July.
Following on from last year’s successful debut UK and Ireland tour which began in Southampton, the city where the RMS Titanic began its fateful maiden voyage, the production will play the New Victoria Theatre, Woking from 11-13 July.
The tour will then head for Germany where it will play dates in Munich, Cologne, and Mannheim before arriving in Moscow in late August.
First seen at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013, the award-winning production which marked the London premiere of the show returned to the capital with director Southerland again at the helm in May 2016. The record-breaking musical launched Southerland’s first season as artistic director at the Charing Cross Theatre with a successful 11-week run.
Based on the tragic true tale of the luxury liner that sank on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York, Titanic The Musical has a Tony Award-winning score by Maury Yeston and a Tony Award-winning book by Peter Stone. The original Broadway production of Titanic The Musical won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book.
