Cuban American singer/actress Christie Prades will play music superstar Gloria Estefan when hit musical On Your Feet makes its UK debut with seven performances at Leicester Curve in early June ahead of a limited run at the London Coliseum.
Prades (In The Heights), who played the role on Broadway and on the successful US tour, will make her own UK debut opposite George Ioannides (Annie, West End, An Officer and a Gentleman, Curve and tour) as Emilio Estefan.
They will be joined by Madalena Alberto (Evita, Dominion Theatre, Cats, London Palladium), and Karen Mann (Fiddler on the Roof, UK tour, Sister Act, Curve and tour) with Philippa Stefani (Rent, UK tour, In The Heights, King’s Cross Theatre) playing Gloria for some performances.
Completing the cast will be Hollie Cassar, Francisco Del Solar, Katie Dunsden, Eduardo Enrikez, Laura Friedrich Tejero, Denzel Giskus, Francesca Lara Gordon, Yonly Leyva Desdunes, Elia Lo Tauro, Martin McCarthy, Alicia Mencía, Ciro Lourencio Meulens, Carl Patrick, Clayton Rosa, Julia Ruiz Fernandez, Shanna Michelle Slaap, Dawnita Smith, Frank van Hengel, Despina Violari and Alain Zambrana Borges.
Klaudia Gjergji, Holly McDonagh and Emily Perra will share the role of Little Gloria and Santiago Huertas Ruiz, Jonathan Naranjo and Alejandro Puentes Motato will share the role of Nayib/Young Emilio/Jeremy.
Featuring the distinctive Cuban-fusion pop sound of the husband and wife team and their band, the Miami Sound Machine, the jukebox style musical is due to play Curve from 3-8 June 2019 before arriving in London from 14 June until 31 August.

To have our life story playing on the stage of the iconic London Coliseum is a dream I could never have imagined coming true. I am thrilled and excited beyond words!”
Based on the true love story of Emilio and Gloria and their journey from Cuba to Miami to international superstardom, On Your Feet debuted on Broadway in 2015 and ran for two years. The US tour ended in January and the show played a sold-out season in the Netherlands in 2017/2018.
The show will be produced in the UK by Jamie Wilson and Gavin Kalin with Colin Ingram and Peter Kane for InTheatre, Marc David Levine and Curve.
Featuring the music of the multi award-winning Estefans and a book by Oscar-winning screenwriter Alexander Dinelaris (Birdman), the Tony-nominated production is directed by Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde) with choreography by Olivier Award winner Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys).

With 38 number one hits across the Billboard charts to her credit, the singer and occasional actress recorded the Oscar-nominated song ‘Music of My Heart’.
Emilio Estefan is a founding member of the pioneering Miami Sound Machine, who created a brand new Latin crossover sound – fusing infectious Cuban rhythms with American pop and disco. Together the prolific husband and wife team have taken home 26 prestigious Grammy Awards.
