The producers of the stage musical based on the animated film The Prince Of Egypt have confirmed plans for the London premiere of the show early next year.
Following on from the recent private reading of a revised version of the show which was first seen on stage in Silicon Valley in the US in 2017, The Prince Of Egypt musical will open at the Dominion Theatre on 5 February 2020 for a limited 32-week run.
Featuring 10 new songs written by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) and a book by Phillip LaZebnik (Disney’s Mulan and Pocahontas), the musical version of the DreamWorks animated film also includes the movie’s Oscar-winning song ‘When You Believe’ along with ‘Deliver Us’, ‘All I Ever Wanted’ and ‘Through Heaven’s Eyes’.
Produced by Dreamworks Theatricals (a division of Universal Theatrical Group), Michael McCabe and Neil Laidlaw, the musical will be directed by Scott Schwartz (Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame) and choreographed by Sean Cheesman. Casting and full creative details will be announced at a later date.
