West End stars Gina Beck and Neil McDermott have joined forces to create a new Christmas show which will receive its world premiere at London’s Charing Cross Theatre in December.
Written and performed by Beck (Matilda The Musical, Show Boat) and McDermott (Pretty Woman, Shrek The Musical), The Elf Who Was Scared of Christmas will play the popular central London venue from 8-23 December 2020.
Presented by Danielle Tarento, the all-singing/all-dancing festive story of an elf called Cupcake and her supportive friend and fellow elf Figgy, will feature a selection of favourite Christmas songs.
Friends since meeting while performing with the National Youth Music Theatre over 20 years, Beck and McDermott now live with their families in the same village. With two children each, the duo came up with the idea of creating a family-friendly theatre show that could be performed under current restrictions. The production will mark the first time Beck and McDermott have appeared together as professional actors.
