Why We’ve Partnered with SeatPlan
At Musical Theatre Review, we’re passionate about helping audiences get the most from every theatre visit – not just through our reviews and features, but by helping people make informed choices before they book.
We only recommend services that we believe genuinely add value for our readers, and that’s why we’ve chosen to partner with SeatPlan, one of the UK’s leading theatre booking platforms.
Founded by Ben Jackson in 2011, SeatPlan was created to solve a problem familiar to every theatregoer: buying expensive tickets without really knowing what their seat would be like. At a time when many theatres simply allocated the “best available” seats, Ben recognised that audiences deserved more information before committing to a purchase.
You can read more about the story behind SeatPlan and its founder in our Five Questions With… Ben Jackson interview, where he shares how the platform has grown from a single interactive seating plan at the Adelphi Theatre into a trusted resource used by theatregoers across the UK and Broadway.
Interactive seating plans include genuine audience photographs, seat ratings and venue information to help you book with confidence
Today, SeatPlan features interactive seating plans for more than 120 theatres across the UK and New York, helping thousands of theatregoers every day.
What makes SeatPlan different is the wealth of information provided by real audiences. You can browse thousands of genuine seat-view photographs, compare views from different parts of the auditorium and read ratings for comfort, legroom and overall experience before making your decision.
We particularly like SeatPlan’s philosophy that there is no single “best seat” – the best seat depends on your budget, your priorities and the experience you’re looking for. Sometimes a hidden gem or a well-priced, restricted-view seat can offer exceptional value, allowing you to enjoy a fantastic theatre experience while keeping costs down.
SeatPlan founder Ben Jackson explains:
“Everyone wants the best view they can get for the best price possible. It’s usually a trade-off between the two, but there are hidden gem seats dotted around in venues that many people overlook.”
That approach perfectly complements our own mission of helping theatre lovers discover and enjoy the very best productions.
If you’re a regular theatregoer, you can also join the free SeatPlan Rewards programme, earning points for sharing seat reviews and photographs that can be redeemed for theatre gift cards.
Support Independent Theatre Journalism
If you’ve enjoyed reading our reviews, interviews and features, booking your tickets using the search tool on this page is a simple way to support Musical Theatre Review.
There is no additional cost to you, but eligible bookings generate a small commission that helps us continue producing independent theatre journalism throughout the year.
Every booking helps us keep bringing you reviews, interviews, news and features from the world of musical theatre, while helping readers discover the best seats and, often, the best ticket prices too.
Thank you for your continued support – and enjoy the show!
