Waitress’ Lucie Jones and Pretty Woman’s Aimie Atkinson will be the headline acts at the final two West End Musical Drive-In performances.
After three months of shows featuring a host of West End favourites, the initiative that brought a touch of musical theatre magic to a London car park will take its final bow with a Halloween special starring Jones (Rent, Legally Blonde).
After signing up for the Halloween show Jones commented: “This has been such an amazing event for theatre fans and for the industry as a whole and I’m so excited to be part of it. I’ll be pulling out all the trick or treats for the season finale!”
The former X Factor finalist turned musical theatre leading lady will take to the stage for the last show in the series on 31 October along with Cedric Neal (Motown, Back To The Future The Musical), Kelly Agbowu (Waitress, Les Misérables), Jon Robyns (Les Misérables, Avenue Q) and host Shanay Holmes (Rent, The Bodyguard).
Six’s Atkinson will headline the penultimate performance on 24 October alongside Emma Kingston (Evita, In The Heights), Luke Baker (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) and T’Shan Williams (Heathers, The Color Purple).
The final two shows will follow on from this weekend’s performance (10 October) featuring Jamie Muscato (Heathers), Sam Tutty (Dear Evan Hansen), Luke Bayer (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) and Caroline Kay (The Clock Maker’s Daughter) and next week’s event reuniting Wicked stars Louise Dearman and Rachel Tucker (17 October).
Presented by the team behind the popular West End Musical Brunch events, the West End Musical Drive-In series has brought West End-quality entertainment to thousands of theatre-hungry people at the site just off the North Circular at The Drive In, Troubadour Meridian Water, in North London.
Each show has featured live performances of musical theatre classics from West End stars on stage and projected onto three large screens with sound provided via a tailor-made FM radio frequency.
