Sheffield Theatres has announced that its major new revival of Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun has extended its run for one week due to public demand, now closing on 21 January. The show opens on 14 December, with previews from 8 December.
Paul Foster directs Anna-Jane Casey as Annie Oakley and Ben Lewis as Frank Butler, with Nicolas Colicos (Buffalo Bill), Mike Denman (Pawnee Bill), Lauren Hall (Winnie Tate), Matthew Malthouse (Foster Wilson), Timothy Quinlan (Charlie Davenport), Cleve September (Tommy Keeler), Maggie Service (Dolly Tate) and Karl Seth (Chief Sitting Bull).
Completing the ensemble are Josh Andrews, Ronan Burns, Emma Caffrey, Matthew Croke, Omari Douglas, Rosie Fletcher, Melissa James, Jasmine Kerr, Natasha Mould, Jak Skelly, Leah West and Emma Woods (ensemble and dance captain).
Berlin’s musical includes such classics as ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business’, ‘Anything You Can Do’ and ‘I Got the Sun in the Morning’, as well as choreography from Sheffield favourite, Alistair David.
Anna-Jane Casey returns to Sheffield Theatres to play Annie Oakley – she previously appeared in Flowers For Mrs Harris, Company, Sweet Charity and Piaf. Her recent theatre credits include Mack & Mabel (Chichester Festival Theatre and UK tour), Jerry’s Girls (St James Theatre), Forbidden Broadway (Menier Chocolate Factory and Vaudeville Theatre), Billy Elliot (Victoria Palace Theatre), Aladdin (Hackney Empire), The Comedy of Errors (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre), Bells Are Ringing (Union Theatre) and Spamalot (Playhouse Theatre).
Ben Lewis plays Frank Butler. His UK theatre credits include Love Me Tender (UK tour), Forbidden Broadway (Menier Chocolate Factory and Vaudeville Theatre), Candide (Menier Chocolate Factory), Thérèse Raquin (Finborough Theatre); and his Australian theatre credits include: Love Never Dies, Spamalot, Urinetown, Priscilla Queen of the Desert – The Musical, Side by Side by Sondheim and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Nicolas Colicos plays Buffalo Bill.
