Rodgers and Hart’s original version of Babes in Arms will be given its first UK staging in nearly 15 years in London in July.
Continuing All Star Productions’ commitment to producing revivals of rarely produced musicals, Babes in Arms will play London’s Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre from 20 July until 7 August.
The 1930s show that gave us American songbook standards like ‘My Funny Valentine’, ‘The Lady is a Tramp’ and ‘Where Or When’ is directed by Brendan Matthews with musical direction by Aaron Clingham.
The team who were behind All Star’s recent revival of The Kissing Dance, which was nominated for seven Off-West End awards, will be joined by choreographer Carole Todd.
Casting is by Benjamin Newsome and the show is produced by Andrew Yon.
A concert version of Babes in Arms played London’s Royal Festival Hall in March this year.
