Ruth Betteridge plays Billie in Babes in Arms at the Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre
Cast and creative details have been revealed for All Star Productions’ Babes in Arms which opens at the Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre next month.
The rarely performed Rodgers and Hart musical, which will play the Walthamstow venue from 20 July until 7 August, will feature Jack McCann (as Valentine LaMar), Ruth Betteridge (as Billie Smith), Austin Garrett (Marshall Blackstone), Beth Bradley (Baby Rose), Dominic Owen (Gus Fielding), Meg McCarthy (Delores Reynolds), Andrew Truluck (Sheriff Reynolds), Joey Warne (Peter), Jaime Tait (Irving de Quincy), Alex Okoampa (Ivor de Quincy), Anthony Matteo (Lee Calhoun), Paige Mackenzie (Bo Calhoun), Jordan Ginger (Rene Flambeau/Dan LaMar) and Annabel Edwards (McCabe/Maizie LaMar).
Continuing All Star Productions’ commitment to producing revivals of rarely-produced musicals, the first UK staging of the show in nearly 15 years is directed by Brendan Matthews with musical direction by Aaron Clingham.
They will be joined by choreographer Carole Todd with casting by Benjamin Newsome, design by Joana Dias and lighting design by Sky Bembury. The team also includes production manager Kat Gagan, production assistant Angie Lawrence and producer Andrew Yon.
The show features American songbook standards like ‘My Funny Valentine’, ‘The Lady is a Tramp’ and ‘Where or When’.
