Be More Chill London cast to feature in online event

The London cast of Be More Chill will reunite (virtually) for a special online concert to be streamed live later this month on the Broadway Podcast Network.

Hosted by the capital’s ‘Jeremy Heere’, Scott Folan, the exclusive Red Solo Cup Concert will feature fellow cast members from the UK premiere of hit Broadway musical which had only just begun its run at The Other Palace when the Covid-curtain came down on theatreland.

Commenting on the event which will be streamed on 26 September 2020 at 9pm BST and 4pm EST, Folan said: “I thought this would be a nice way to reunite my cast members in celebration of the joy that Be More Chill brings to us all.”

Folan will be joined by cast members Blake Patrick Anderson (Michael Mell), Miracle Chance (Christine Canigula), Eloise Davies (Brooke Lohst), Christopher Fry (Mr Heere/Mr Reyes), James Hameed (Rich Goranski), Eve Norris (Swing), Miles Paloma (Jake Dillinger) and special guests. The event will include live chat and performances of the cast’s favourite numbers from the show.

Be More Chill had been due to become The Other Palace’s longest-running musical with an extended run which began in mid-February and was due to end in mid-June.

Based on the novel of the same name by Ned Vizzini with original music and lyrics by Joe Iconis and a book by Joe Tracz, Be More Chill was commissioned by and premiered at Two River Theater in Red Bank, New Jersey in 2015.

The show captured the imagination of the online community when the 2015 original cast recording was released on Ghostlight Records and millions of people streamed the album. The show soon had a devoted and growing fan base which led to the show’s Off-Broadway debut in 2018 ahead of this year’s Broadway premiere run. When the ‘2019 Broadway Cast Recording’ was released, it debuted at number two on the Cast Albums’ Chart.
