Stage and screen legend Bernadette Peters is heading back to the UK to play five solo concerts this June. The triple Tony Award winner who recently starred on Broadway in the hit revival of Hello, Dolly! will play a London date at the Lyceum Theatre on 10 June 2019, followed by Edinburgh’s Usher Hall (12 June), Birmingham’s Symphony Hall (14 June), The Lowry, Salford (16 June) and Milton Keynes Theatre (18 June).
Widely regarded as one of the foremost interpreters of Stephen Sondheim’s work, Peters has starred in some of Broadway’s biggest shows, including Into the Woods, Sunday in the Park With George, A Little Night Music and Follies.
Accompanied by long-time musical director Marvin Laird, the star with the distinctive look and voice will take her audience on a trip through a musical career that has spanned decades.
Commenting on the UK dates which will follow shows across the US, Peters said: “I’m delighted to be returning to the UK this coming June. I love visiting your country and you are always so wonderfully kind and welcoming. I’m very excited to be visiting some cities I haven’t been to before. So come join me in London, Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh and let me entertain you!”
