Beverley Knight and Billy Porter to host Olivier Awards 2025

Olivier and MOBO Award-winner Beverley Knight and Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award-winner Billy Porter will host this year’s Olivier Awards with Mastercard.

The pair, who will take on the prestigious role for the first time, will host the star-packed ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall on 6 April. Highlights from the ceremony will be broadcast on ITV 1 and ITVX on the evening of the event.

Soon to make her professional play debut in Marie and Rosetta at the Rose Theatre and Chichester Festival Theatre, Knight who won an Olivier in 2023 for Sylvia, said: “I am so chuffed to be hosting this year’s Olivier Awards! I’m even more excited to be hosting alongside Billy Porter who is a phenomenal talent. It is an honour to be asked to hold the reins of such an important and prestigious night of celebrating theatre.”

Porter, who can currently be seen as The Emcee in the multi-award-winning Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, added: “I am thrilled and honoured to host the Olivier Awards alongside the fantastic Beverley Knight. I’m so grateful for the warm welcome from the London theatre community, and am looking forward to a magnificent evening!”

The organisers also confirmed the continuation of the Oliviers’ partnership with Mastercard for the nineteenth year with the company once again sponsoring the Mastercard Best New Musical Award.

Choreographer Anthony Van Laast will lead the event’s creative team for a third year as creative show director alongside conductor and arranger Gareth Valentine for the second year, with orchestrator Mark Cumberland and lighting designer Ben Cracknell.
