The new musical adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s Mudpuddle Farm story Pigs Might Fly will embark on a UK tour this month.
Presented by DEM Productions, Morpurgo’s much-loved farmyard creations are being brought to life on stage by Caroline Wigmore and Jen Green (book, music and lyrics) and director Kate Golledge.
Featuring a family-friendly mixture of catchy songs and puppetry, the production will open at Theatre Peckham in London (24-26 May) before heading for the New Victoria Theatre in Woking on 30 and 31 May. The tour will then return to London to play the New Wimbledon Theatre on 3 and 4 June, before visiting the Princess Theatre in Torquay (10 and 11 June), Richmond Theatre (18 June), Brighton Theatre Royal (7 and 8 July) and Milton Keynes Theatre (16 July).
Megan Swaisland (The Hogmoor Troll, 440 Theatre) will star as Pintsize with Rachel Lea-Gray (Pigs Might Fly, 2022 UK Tour, Jungle Rumble, Fortune Theatre) as Farmer Brightwell and Jazz Evans (Claus the Musical, Lowry Manchester, Spamalot UK Tour) as Farmer Rafferty.
Pigs Might Fly features choreography by Chris Whittaker and set and costume design by Stewart J Charlesworth.
