Dean Chisnall will play Jean Valjean
Major cast changes have been announced for Cameron Mackintosh’s record-breaking Les Misérables at London’s Queen’s Theatre next month.
Currently celebrating its 33rd year in the West End, the multi award-winning show will welcome new cast members Dean Chisnall, Toby Miles, Elena Skye, Vivien Parry and Amara Okereke from Monday 11 June.
Chisnall whose most recent credits include the UK tour of Blood Brothers and Working at the Southwark Playhouse will take on the role of Jean Valjean. Recent graduate Miles will make his West End and professional debut as Marius with Skye in her second West End role (following her debut in Kinky Boots) as Eponine.
Half a Sixpence star Parry (The Girls, UK tour) will be the new Madame Thénardier with Okereke (The Hired Man, 13 The Musical) as Cosette. Carly Stenson (Legally Blonde) and Steven Meo (Pride and Prejudice) will continue in the roles of Fantine and Thénardier.
The newcomers will initially join David Thaxton who returned to the role of Javert in the production in January this year. Thaxton (an Olivier Award winner for his performance in the Donmar Warehouse’s Passion) will play Javert until Saturday 21 July. He will be replaced by Bradley Jaden from Monday 23 July. Currently playing Fiyero in Wicked, Jaden previously played Enjoiras in the 30th anniversary cast.
