Casting has been announced for new swinging 1960s-set jukebox musical Summer in the City.
Written by Jennifer Selway and devised and directed by John Plews, the production will star Connor Arnold (Million Dollar Quartet, NCL Cruise Lines), Candis Butler Jones (Doctor Faustus, Southwark Playhouse), Rose Bruford College graduate Harry Curley, Eliza Shea (Romeo & Juliet, Churchill Theatre, Bromley), Helin Goldwyn (Abigail’s Party, York Theatre Royal) and Elizabeth Walker (Six, NCL Cruise Lines).
Produced by Katie Plews for Ovation, Summer in the City will play London’s Upstairs at the Gatehouse from 14 December 2022 until 15 January 2023.
Featuring a five-piece band playing classic songs from the 1960s, the creative team for the production also includes musical supervisor Kevin Oliver Jones, lighting designer Aaron Dootson, set designer Ruby Boswell-Green and costume designer Jean Gray with casting by Pearson Casting.
