Cast for Turn On Fest’s The Regulars

Casting has been announced for the rehearsed reading and concert presentation of new US musical The Regulars at Hope Mill Theatre’s third annual LGBTQIA+ arts festival Turn On Fest in January.

Featuring music, lyrics and book by trans writer Will Shishmanian, the folk music-flavoured musical is being produced by Hope Mill Theatre and developed by Hope Mill with director Miss Hazel Jade.

The festival’s headline event will feature the show’s writer Shishmanian alongside: Aiesha Pease (Hadestown, National Theatre); Natalie Paris (Six, West End); Idriss Kargbo (Wicked, West End); Matthew Facchino (Sasha Regan’s All-Male Pirates of Penzance, West End); Teddy Hinde (a non-binary performer, currently training at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance); Mark Lockhart (a recent graduate of the Royal Academy of Music’s Musical Theatre Masters); Amy Fleur (a featured soloist in Hope Mill Theatre’s recent online production of Godspell); James Markham (Twelfth Night, Liverpool’s Royal Court); and Jordan Walker (2021 graduate from Guildford School of Acting.

Commenting on the production, director Miss Hazel Jade said: “I am unbelievably thrilled to showcase Shish’s [Will Shishmanian] beautiful songs at Turn On Fest and continue developing The Regulars with Hope Mill! It is a dream to share the world of Amberland with Manchester audiences.”

Produced by Hope Mill, the creative team for the production also includes music director George Strickland, concert arranger Anessa Marie, sound engineer Josh Evans, festival stage manager Tom Sutcliffe with concert casting by Pearson Casting.

Following on from the 2020 launch of Turn On Fest and 2021’s online event, the festival will welcome back live audiences from 22-38 January.
