Eleven actors who have previously played roles in Titanic The Musical are among the full cast for the production’s eagerly-anticipated UK and Ireland tour.
Due to visit the cities and communities most closely associated with the doomed ship, Thom Southerland’s critically-acclaimed production of the multi-award-winning Broadway musical is due to launch its UK and Ireland tour in Southampton, the city where the RMS Titanic began its fateful maiden voyage.
Following its opening run at the Mayflower Theatre from 12 April 2018 until 21 April, the tour’s first port of call will be the Grand Opera House (23-28 April) in Belfast, the city where the doomed ship was built.
The tour will then visit Cardiff, Salford, Dublin, Sheffield, Glasgow, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Plymouth, Northampton, Nottingham, Blackpool, Bromley and Liverpool.
The production’s 25-strong cast features actors who appeared in the show when it played Toronto’s Princess of Wales Theatre, the Southwark Playhouse and the Charing Cross Theatre.

First seen at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013, the award-winning production which marked the London premiere of the show returned to the capital with director Southerland again at the helm in May 2016. The musical launched Southerland’s first season as artistic director at the Charing Cross Theatre with a successful 11-week run.
Based on the tragic true tale of the luxury liner that sank on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York, Titanic The Musical has a Tony Award-winning score by Maury Yeston and a Tony Award-winning book by Peter Stone. The original Broadway production won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book.
Commenting on the announcement of the UK tour last year, Yeston said: “The idea that a troupe of actors will tour this show in the UK, birthplace of the ship, where the workers of Belfast, the cabin boys and maids and stewards from Liverpool, the officers and crew, the stokers and stevedores from the Midlands all created a miraculous floating city, means more to me than I can say. I am touched that, musically, Titanic will finally be coming home, sung by the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of its builders – touched, and forever grateful.”
Titanic The Musical is produced by Danielle Tarento, Steven M. Levy, Sean Sweeney and Vaughan Williams, in association with the Mayflower Theatre.
