Disney in Concert – The Jungle Book to play the Royal Festival Hall

yweucg5nMuch-loved animated classic The Jungle Book will swing into London’s Royal Festival Hall next year for two special symphonic cinema concerts.

The UK premiere of Disney in Concert –The Jungle Book will feature the enduringly popular film which was to be the last produced by Walt Disney on the big screen accompanied by a live orchestra and singers.

Produced by Senbla Live, audiences for the two shows on 26 March 2017 will be able to watch the film in HD on the big screen and listen to the Sherman Brothers’ memorable songs performed by a 50-piece orchestra with a full ensemble of singers including special guests (to be announced at a later date).

Commenting on the event, Richard Sherman said: “It’s a big thrill for me to know that the songs my brother, Robert, and I wrote for the last film Walt Disney personally produced are being honoured in such a unique and exciting manner. I feel it is a wonderful way of introducing this Disney classic to contemporary audiences.”

Ollie Rosenblatt, MD of Senbla Live added: “For over half a century The Jungle Book has been a part of childhood for millions around the world. The music is timeless and you can’t help but crack a smile when the soundtrack starts to play.

“We are thrilled to be bringing Disney in Concert – The Jungle Book to London’s prestigious Royal Festival Hall where we will entertain fans of all ages with this wonderful story and concert with our fabulous orchestra and singers.”

Inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s classic novel, Disney’s timeless tale of the boy Mowgli and his animal friends has delighted audiences since its cinema debut in 1967.
