Olivier Award-nominee Maiya Quansah-Breed (Six, Rent) and Billy Luke Nevers (& Juliet, Jesus Christ Superstar) will star in the world premiere of Dominic Powell’s The Love Revue at London’s Phoenix Arts Club later this month.
Re-working elements of Powell’s original musical Date 1 to 10, The Love Revue mixes pop, R ‘n’ B and musical theatre with poetry and readings woven into a story of two lovers.
The Love Revue will make its debut at the Phoenix Arts Club with two performances on 21 February. Guest performers will be announced soon.
Nominated for an Olivier for her performance in the original cast of Six, Quansah-Breed previously worked with composer and producer Powell on CASES, featuring on the original cast recording and in a virtual concert performance celebrating Powell’s work as part of the Barn Theatre Presents series of concerts during lockdown.
Quansah-Breed and Nevers previously performed together in the West End in I Could Use A Drink at the Garrick Theatre and Roles We’ll Never Play at the Vaudeville Theatre. The duo also performed their first joint cabaret at the Phoenix Arts Club in June last year.
