Selladoor Productions’ critically-acclaimed 3oth anniversary production of Fame The Musical is now streaming on Broadway HD.
Directed and choreographed by Nick Winston, the production described as “the best I’ve ever seen” by the show’s creator David De Silva, played a successful 50 date tour which included a West End run in 2018/2019 and a Christmas season at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre.
Commenting on the production’s availability for home viewing, De Silva said: “I’m absolutely delighted that this exhilarating and unforgettable production of Fame is now streaming on Broadway HD. It is the best production of Fame I’ve ever seen and I am so glad that the entire world now has the opportunity to experience it.”
Producer Maddy Mutch added: “This high definition recording of Fame is a lasting testament to the enormous skill and energy of the whole company. The show delighted audiences in packed houses from Birmingham to Berlin. Fame truly does live forever.”
The tour was presented by Selladoor Productions (the award-winning team behind popular productions of Footloose, Avenue Q, and Flashdance – The Musical), with Gavin Kalin Productions, Dan Looney and Adam Paulden, Stephen McGill Productions and Jason Haigh-Ellery in association with Big Dreamer Productions, Michael Dahl Rasmussen, BrightLights Productions and Announcement Productions.
Director and choreographer Winston heads a creative team that includes designer Morgan Large, sound designer Ben Harrison, lighting designer Prema Mehta, musical supervisor Mark Crossland and music director Tim Whiting.
The cast for the recording includes: Keith Jack, Mica Paris and Jorgie Porter with Molly McGuire, Albey Brookes, Jamal Crawford, Stephanie Rojas, Hayley Johnston, Simon Anthony, Alexander Zane, Louisa Beadel, Katie Warsop, Spencer Lee Osborne, Duncan Smith, Morgan Jackson, Ryan Kayode, Tom Mussell, Jay Le Marrec, Lauren Crooks, Daisy Edwards, Courtney George and Serina Mathew.
The musical version of British director Alan Parker’s ground-breaking 1980 movie, Fame, debuted in Miami in 1988 and arrived in London’s West End for the first time in 1995. The show which boasts a book by José Fernandez, music by Steve Margoshes and lyrics by Jacques Levy, first toured the UK in 1996.
